How've you been? Hopefully this week has treated you well! At the time I’m writing this, I’m enjoying a grape Jolly Rancher and counting down the minutes until I have to go grocery shopping.
Picture Something That Brings You Joy...
It could be something like a sweet keychain you got from Japan of Godzilla hittin' the lucky-cat pose, your croissant of a Turkish van cat (best cuddle buddy), or even a spiffy pair of cateye glasses that bring out your Whimsy and Weird. I've got quite a few things, but one thing that brings me absolute joy is...my lemon slice hat.

A recent feeling I discovered is loving what I wear; how I felt in what I wore. Loving the reflection I see when I wear A Thing.
Growing up, I didn’t really care much about what I wore (shoutout to depression), but as I explored my own identity, I realized that what I wore was just as integral to expressing myself as a person as the art I made. It might sound silly or like I'm late to the party, but I want to exude the feeling of making someone's day.
I found out about Clammy Heart! from a friend. It's a cutesy, cottage-core boutique that makes the most adorable clothing and accessories that speak to me as a whimsy ol’ gal. Their Citrus Slice embroidered beret stood out to me, both leaning into my love for citrus fruits and--well, it's 🍊the brand🍋, isn't it?
So I asked my wife for the lemon. I put this hat on and looked at myself in the outfit I put together. To my surprise, a bright smile flashed across my face. It was genuinely the happiest I looked in the mirror in a very, very long time!
I get somany compliments on my lemon slice hat, and it makes me smile every time. My partner even said to me as we left H-Mart one sunny day, “See? Your favorite hat makes so many people’s day!”
And it left me thinking about how much this hat brings me joy to wear, so much so that I got another. And another.

Let's Take A Moment...
As someone who lives a pretty turbulent life, slowing down feels practically unachievable to me. The Long View Letters by Skendha Singh invites me and those of us who are overwhelmed to do just that: slow down, appreciate the beauty of the world around me, and savor that moment in time.
Skendha's knack for putting moments into words is like a warm cup of mango green tea after an overwhelming day at the office, which I really appreciate considering how hectic it sometimes gets over here.
One of my favorite entries from her is On Birds, Spiders, Gods and Others (spoiler warnings there for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey,and Ohh My Dog). A fave descriptor of mine was the mention of the "peacock green" that's appeared in the greenery around her thanks to the monsoon rains that have passed through where she lives.
